« Boosting Europe »
France is a very active country in the European Union; it is its duty to make a significant contribution to enable it to assert itself in the world. This contribution can be made in three different areas: political, economic and cultural.
- At the political level, France will never return to dictatorship or totalitarian political systems. It will ensure the freedom of all citizens of the European Union.
- At the cultural level:
France has, for over a century a major influence on European cinema and even the world thanks in part to its famous "Festival de Cannes".
The exceptional quality of the network of arthouses makes France a country that is particularly cinema-friendly. And Paris, where the concentration of arthouses is most important, is the world capital of cinema arthouses. It is in Paris that the diverse film programs are the largest in the world.
In addition, France is the nation producing the most films per inhabitants. France therefore boosts the EU from a cultural point of view through the global reach of its movies.
- Economically:
Clusters "pôles de compétitivité" are designed to boost a region to attract new people and to make it more attractive. In France on July 12, 2005, the Interministerial Committee for Planning and Development Planning (CIADT) has assigned 1.5 billion euros to finance all 67 clusters. The Euroregion is an administrative structure of transnational cooperation between two or more territories of various European countries. They are designed to promote transnational interests. AEBR (Association of European Border Regions) includes Euro-regions and gives the following criteria for their identification:
- An association of local authorities on one side or the other of a national border
- A transfrontier association with a permanent secretariat, technical and administrative teams and its own budget
- A body of private law
